Very strong and dangerous M7.0 earthquake hit central Peru

A very strong earthquake measuring M7.0 on the Richter scale struck central Peru on August 24, 2014, at 23:21 UTC (18:21 local time). USGS is reporting depth of 58.9 km (36.6 miles). EMSC is reporting same magnitude and depth of 60 km.Epicenter was located 42 km (26 miles) ENE of Tambo, 61 km (38 miles) E of Puquio, 108 km (67 miles) S of Andahuaylas and 471 km (293 miles) SE of Lima, PeruThere are 288 366 people living within 100 km and about 14 000 within 20 km radius.USGS issued green alert for shaking-related fatalities and economic losses.
