Japanese citizens posted their radiation measurement data on Twitter. These show the radiation levels are significantly high even in the medical institute.

“Is this really a hospital ? I thought I would never be surprised anymore but I can’t help being surprised again.

0.516 μSv/h in the area of Fukushima Medical University.”

“・・・

0.47 μSv/h in front of Fukushima Medical University.”

“The garden of the shop I had lunch in, but the radiation level is over 0.6 μSv/h in Fukushima city. Yokohama city is also contaminated but it’s about 0.05.

This is almost 12 ~ 13 times much as it.

This garden must be cleaned quite often, but the radiation level is this high. As expected, decontamination doesn’t make it “safe”.”

Record growth of organic food consumption in the U.S. and India

There has been record growth in sales of organic, non-GMO food in some of the world’s largest produce markets, a good thing for consumers and advocates of clean, wholesome, non-bioengineered commodities. In the United States, the value of the organic foods market in 2013 exceeded $35 billion for the very first time, an increase of nearly 12 percent from the previous year, according to Eileen Bentley, small business and prepared foods manager at Bord Bia, the Irish Food Board. The U.S. economy, as a whole, has been growing, on average, at between 1 and 2 percent for months, which is dismal. As reported by AgriLand, an Ireland-based agricultural news site, Bentley outlined in a recent Bord Bia Food Alert that data compiled by the U.S. Organic Trade Association (OTA) found that the 2013… »

Japanese citizen “Instep is hurting, swelling, and started bleeing for unknown reason” – Photo

A Japanese citizen posted on Twitter that his instep is bleeding for unknown reason.

19:37 7/27/2014

“The instep has been hurting and swelling to be red since yesterday, but I didn’t think blood would stand on it.

Apparently it was bleeding slowly and continuously so blood penetrated the socks but I wonder if I ate something wrong ?

Or maybe I was over exposed ?”

This person seems to be living in Chiba prefecture to implement radiation measurement and share data.

It is possible that the integral exposure dose of this person was higher than other people by staying in highly contaminated places on purpose.

“Drone” to be used to investigate inside Fukushima nuclear plant from this Autumn

Unmanned aircraft known as “Drone” is planned to be used in Fukushima nuclear plant from this Autumn.

Chiba university collaborated with about 10 Japanese makers.

It’s approximately 1m × 1m long, has self positioning system independent from GPS.

It’s expected to fly inside the plant buildings avoiding obstacles.

However electronic parts are known to be severely damaged by high level of radiation.

Fukushima worker, Happy11311 posted on Twitter that the problem is how much it can resist the radioactive circumstances inside the plant buildings.

At this moment, Tepco announced none of the details.

Volcanic activity increased in Mt. Kusatsu-Shirane / Traffic restriction on National Route 292

Volcanic earthquakes rapidly increased in Mt. Kusatsu-Shirane in Gunma prefecture.

It was 4 times on 7/21/2014, but increased to 11 times on 7/22, 50 times on 7/23, and 148 times on 7/24/2014.

Gunma prefecture entirely closed National Route 292 from 9:00 AM of 7/24/2014.

At 8:30 AM of 7/26/2014, they decided to partially open it from 8:30 to 17:00 only for vehicles.

Japan Meteorological Agency had raised the eruption warning level this June. Having the warning level escalated, Gunma prefecture was actually putting the partial traffic restriction on National Route 929 since then.

The last eruption was phreatic eruptions in 1983, but the volcanic activity has been increasing since 311. Inflation of the volcanic edifice has also been observed this year.
