Arakawa river in Fukushima city was awarded a prize as the clearest river in Japan by Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
On 7/22/2014, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism announced this. Arakawa river has been chosen to be the clearest river among 163 Japanese rivers for 4 continuous years.
It was not judged by radioactive material density but judged by biochemical oxygen demand from January to December of 2013. In the announcement, radioactive material was never mentioned.
