3 Pale blue light emitting mushroom found in Sendai

Approx. 60 mushrooms were found emitting pale blue light in Taihaku ward of Sendai.

These were growing on a dead tree. The diameter of a cap was about 1cm.

Professor Hirai from Koriyama Women’s University & College comments it looks like Mycena chlorophos, which is seen in the islands of offshore Pacific.

He states if it was really Mycena chlorophos, that’s really rare to see in Northern area of Japan.

The specific sort of these mushrooms is not identified.
