Massive wildfires in California as seen from space

An intense heatwave coupled with the Santa Ana winds lead to an outbreak of multiple wildfires throughout California this week. Most of those wildfires originated from the Bernardo Fire, which had ignited on May 13, 2014. In just 24 hours they were so massive that they could be easily seen from space.As of May 14, the fires have burned an area of at least 17 211 acres or 70 km2 and injured at least 7 people in San Diego County. Strong M 6.0 earthquake recorded off the coast of Antigua and Barbuda

Strong and shallow earthquake measuring M 6.0 (USGS) was recorded off the coast of Antigua and Barbuda, a twin-island nation between the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, on May 16, 2014. The earthquake struck at 07:01 local time, 11:01 UTC. USGS is reporting depth of 24.5 km (15.2 miles).Epicenter was located 113 km (70 miles) NE of Grande Anse, Guadelope and 155 km (96 miles) E of Saint John’s, Andigua and Barbuda.A strong aftershock measuring M 5.0 was registered at 11:12 UTC.USGS issued green alert for shaking-related fatalities and economic losses. Huge fireball seen over Qeensland might have hit the ground, Australia

A giant fireball was seen falling from the sky over central and northern Queensland on May 15th. According to eyewitnesses, a massive ball of fire had blue and orange tail and it might have hit the ground somewhere between Townsville and Jericho around 18:52 AEST (06:52 UTC).
