Seismicity

During December 2014, the University of Utah Seismograph Stations, responsible for the operation and analysis of the Yellowstone Seismic Network, reports 75 earthquakes were located in the Yellowstone National Park region. The largest event was a small earthquake of magnitude 2.4 on December 15, at 12:02 PM MST, located about 14 miles southwest of West Thumb in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. There were no earthquake swarm sequences during the month of December.
