Shishaldin Weekly Update issued Apr 11, 2014 13:16 Volcano Alert Level WATCH - Aviation Color Code ORANGE

The low-level eruption of Shishaldin continues. Elevated surface temperatures were observed at the summit crater in satellite images several times during the past week. Minor ash deposits were observed in satellite data extending several hundreds of meters from the summit crater. Webcam views were usually cloudy, although occasional clear views showed a possible small steam plume. Sound waves coupling into the ground (ground-coupled air waves) from small explosions were detected mid-week but have since decreased.
